Personally, I wish the app allowed you to change the alarm sound to something different, but it's not a deal breaker considering this is a free app.
The alarm noise with this app is very loud and actually quite obnoxious, so you're sure to wake up if your anchor is dragging. And unfortually there seems to be no way to exclude the location services from battery - management.Īnyway we hope that excluding boatspeed from battery-optimization might already work for you.The app allows the boat to swing around the anchor without setting off the alarm, but if the anchor drags past the set distance, the alarm sounds. Most devices also seem to disable gps and location services while going to sleep, and in this case boadspeed tracking and anchor alert might even start but not get any data. Removing the app from battery management might help with the problem, but it is not garanteed. For system security restrictions we can't free Boatspeed directly from battery manager, and maybe you don't even want it. To avoid this we give you the possibility to exclude Boatspeed from battery-manager (battery-optimization) and provide you with a dialog and shortcut link. In this case tracking and anchor alert won't work until you wake up your device again by switching it on and starting an app. When not using your phone for a certain time the system will go into a battery-save-mode and stop all applications and background services, including tracking and anchor alert. Tip: Have a look at the section Long Time Tracking to find out how you can prevent android battery save mode from stopping boatspeed running in the background. This will prevent Anchor Alert from working as expected. Apart from hardware limitations the Android operating system may also interrupt background processes as anchor alarm is. Warning: The anchor alert does not replace the deck guard. Please bring the app to the foreground by pressing the anchor alert notification and stop the alert.
Anyway the sound is played in the background. Tap on the map to center it to the anchor's position.įor Android 10 and greater the app can't be sent to the foreground any more, due to system restrictions.
